Shamar is an Event Operations Coordinator for the Columbus Commons team, managing logistics for over 200 annual events. He oversees on-site operations, enhances maintenance of grounds and facilities, and ensures clear communication among clients, contractors, and patrons for seamless event execution.

Before joining Downtown Columbus, Inc. in 2025, Shamar was an attendant for the City of Columbus Recreation and Park Rentals. He also gained experience as Assistant Athletic Director for Westerville North High School Athletics. Shamar earned a Bachelor’s in Sport Management with a Minor in Exercise Science and Personal Training from Otterbein University where he was a 4-year track and field athlete and the sprints team captain. His education and event coordination background reinforce strong contributions to Columbus Commons events.
