New Electronic Playground to be Unveiled at Columbus Commons Holiday Fair

Thanks to a grant from the Ohio Soft Drink Association and the American Beverage Foundation for a Healthy America, Columbus Commons is now home to a state-of-the-art electronic playground system.

The new interactive equipment, called the NEOS 360, will be unveiled at the Holiday Fair on Friday, November 30 at 4:30 p.m. Mayor Coleman’s Capital Kids are set to be the first to test it out, and kids of all ages from the community are invited to take part in the fun.

“We are proud to support this terrific addition to the vibrant, ever-growing community space at Columbus Commons,” said Kimberly McConville, Ohio Soft Drink Association Executive Director.

“We are honored to receive this gift from the Ohio Soft Drink Association and the American Beverage Association. The playground equipment will add a key element to the park that children and families will enjoy for decades to come,” said Guy V. Worley, Columbus Downtown Development Corporation and Capitol South President/CEO.

After the opening of the playground, the community is invited to enjoy the 2nd Annual Holiday Fair with activities scheduled until 9 p.m. that evening. Festivities include visits with Santa Claus, a giant slide, carousel rides, a petting zoo, ice sculptures, laser tag, arts and crafts, food trucks, and entertainment, including the local band MoJoFlo. The action continues the following day, Saturday, December 1, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
